Your Annual Motorcycle Service

Motorbike Care & Maintenance

Servicing at regular intervals helps to prevent unexpected breakdowns and component failure. It also makes self maintenance simpler by helping to prevent corrosion and seized parts from becoming a 'necessary evil'. Because they're not. But in order to prevent this all bikes need servicing, preferably every year. Even if this is simply a change of engine oil and a thorough check over of your motorcycle and adjustments of items such as the chain and handlebar levers or just topping up the brake fluids.

The list get's longer and longer the more you use your motorcycle of course. The higher your annual mileage, or indeed the longer you leave between service intervals, the more will need doing.

Scheduled Motorcycle Servicing: What you can expect for your money

At Fasttrack, you get more than you would think from a full service. Even our short service is more comprehensive than some other dealer’s full service.

Full Service

Engine & Carburretors

• A thorough check of your valve clearances*
• An oil change - specify your grade
• New oil filter - OE specification
• New air filter - OE specification
• New NGK spark plugs
• Replace coolant - Rock Oil Coolant
• Carburettor balancing**
• Carburettor adjustment***

* Should your valve clearances need adjusting, we replace all sealer washers and gaskets with new components.
** Sometimes it is necessary to completely remove the carburretors in order to adjust the valve clearances correctly. Should this prove necessary, we remove the float bowl and clean all jets to ensure perfect running.
*** We will adjust the pilot jet/air volume for optimum performance

Chassis & Brakes

• Brake calipers removed & cleaned
• Brake pistons degreased
• Hydraulic Fluid System flushed
• All levers & pivots cleaned and lubricated
• Throttle & clutch adjustment
• General lubrication and inspection
• Tyre pressures checked and adjusted
• Chain adjustment and lubrication
• All lights checked

Road Test

All motorcycles will be road-tested by a qualified technician to ensure all work has been carried out satisfactorily.

Short Service

The short service consists of a change of oil and filter plus chain adjustment & lubrication as well as a thorough inspection of virtually all the items covererd in a full service - almost everything we can check without actually dismantling your vehicle.

Major Service

On all major servicing, it is necessary to check and adjust the valve clearances on your motorcycle. Certain items like fork oil viscosity, steering head bearings and rear arm bearings need to be inspected as well. This is in addition to everything you can expect from the Full Service
