Dedicated MOT bay in use
Why not make use of our convenient Midlands location? We offer a drop-in, while-you-wait, service during the week but it's generally preferable to book in advance to avoid a lengthy wait as we always give priority to any pre-booked motorcycle MOT. Leicester City Centre and Leicester train station are less than 5 minutes walk away so we are ideally suited as a drop-in MOT service provider. Simply ride your bike to our door and catch a train to work or go shopping in Leicester's brand new shopping centre. Then when you're finished pop back and collect your motorcycle and make your way home.
At Fasttrack Motorcycles we have over 12 years experience as a VOSA qualified, government approved MOT testing station. This solid expertise allows us to make a fair and honest appraisal of your bike as well as spotting potential problems before they become an issue. Often these could be things you could adjust or keep an eye on yourself consequently saving you money in the long run.
Although it's not absolutely necessary to book in advance we cannot guarantee finding a suitable slot on Saturdays as unfortunately we have to give priority to bookings.
Most people are aware that bald tyres are illegal. But what about worn out steering head bearings, or brake pads? There are many aspects to the safe running of a bike, and this test is an annual check of all the various components which, if they failed, could lead to a serious accident. A new motorcycle MOT certificate is also used by many as proof of the vehicles condition when buying or selling a used vehicle.

Strangely a mirror is not a necessity for passing the MOT test. But we do advise you to have one to save getting a crick in your neck. Besides shouldn't you spend your time looking forward?
You may present a bike for a daytime only test without lights or indicators but it must have a functioning continuous tone horn. You will receive an advisory explaining that riding a vehicle with a Daytime MOT on a public road after dark is an offence comparable to not having any MOT at all. "It's later than I expected." or "But it got dark and I didn't exepct it to." are not arguments which will stand up in court...
In the next couple of weeks we will put together a simple checklist and more detailed rundown of the Motorcycle MOT requrements which will be linked from here. Until then, you should always check your lights and tyres anyway and keeping an eye out for leaks from your suspension or loose articles on your bike just makes common sense anyway now doesn't it?
